B'Elanna's 3rd Birthday

B'Elanna's birthday is actually March 14th, but I decided we should celebrate it later in the month when her Grammy could come and visit and when her Nai Nai had returned from Dubai. So we ended up celebrating her birthday right before Easter on March 29th. Her party was later in the afternoon... but that didn't stop her from entertaining us during the day. She LOVES her sunglasses and carrying the little purse Nai Nai got her. Here she is doing her "Red Carpet Walk"....

Her Grammy, Nai Nai, Tante Noonie and Uncle Daryl were all there. I chose Tinker Bell as her theme. I think she had a good time and got some pretty good gifts!!

We decorated for her party while she was taking her nap. As you can see... she was a bit unsure about everything when she first woke-up.... but a little bit of flying helped....

Then she found out she gets a necklace... but when she saw it was candy and not shiny, she was less impressed. hehehehehe

And then she noticed the Balloons. My girl LOVES her Balloons!!!

Then she played with her Tante Noonie....

But ultimately... she wanted Mommy to protect them...

Then we started opening her presents.... she LOVED her basket ball hoop and shoes and puzzles, clothes and animal tree!!

My little Shoe Diva was extremely EXCITED to see her new shoes...she just HAD to put them on ASAP!!

Watching me put together her animal tree... and then doing a happy dance...

And making Monkey sounds...

At one point during the day... I got an image of my future....

And saw that no matter her genes...

There is no hope for Poor B'Elanna either.

hehehehehe

It took a bit... but we finally got around to blowing out the candles and eating the cake...

Getting in a bit of play time before going to bed.... hmmm... wonder what that gorilla is thinking...

The Easter Bunny

So... Recently, B'Elanna had saw a picture on FB of one of my friends daughters sitting with the Easter Bunny. They were all smiles. Well... ever since B'Elanna has been talking about "Bunny" this, "Bunny" that, so I decided to put her in a beautiful dress she got as a gift from my FB group Secret Santa and take her to meet the Easter Bunny and get some pictures.

Here she is riding her scooter around the house in her dress and knowing we are going to go see the Easter Bunny....

All I can say is.... I have a match to the Santa picture I have. Notice the matching Hair accessories...yep... I was putting B'Elanna's in and she kept fussing until I put some in too. They are ladybugs. All I can say is I must really love this child, since I was willing to embarrass myself in public dressed like this.

6 Month Anniversary

Today was our 6 month anniversary, so I decided to put B'Elanna in her Group Picture outfit and see how it fit/how much she had grown. As you can see... not much....she had only grown about 1.2 inches and gained about 3 lbs.

Seattle Children's Hospital - Colostomy

February 7 - February 13, 2013

B'Elanna was admitted to Seattle Children's Hospital for her Diverting Colostomy. This is to give her rectum a chance to shrink back down. While in hospital, I found out that B'Elanna's surgeries are going to be done in a 3-step series... not the 2-steps I had thought.

#1) Is the Colostomy to allow her rectum to shrink

#2) She will have her corrective anoplasty and her rectum will be tapered if it hasn't shrunk enough. Afterwards, she is given a 2 week recovery and then she starts a 8-9 months of Anal dilations.
#3) She will have her Colostomy takedown and start her life-long Bowel Management routine.

Here is a video synopsis I put together of hospital visit. As you will see... we had a few ups and downs...

Things seemed fine when we first got home. B'Elanna's physical recovery has gone well... she has continued to break out in hives, even when off ALL medicines, so I think they are due to stress. Also, she developed a yeast infection under the wafer part of the colostomy that has spread ALL OVER her body. So I am covering her from shoulder to toes in Nystanin and it is getting a bit better. Emotionally... it is a bit of another story. Nothing really bad, just she is MUCH more clingy. She follows me from room to room to room, wants to be picked up and carried ALL the time... if I am sitting in the recliner and get up to go to the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom/anywhere... she IMMEDIATELY goes into a panic state and starts crying and shaking and grabbing onto me.

So it has been awhile since I posted so I am going to back track a bit.

In February... B'Elanna started to interact with Posideon a lot more. Here are few pictures of her reading to him.

For Christmas, B'Elanna received a playskool schoolbus from her Grammy and in January she received a box of goodies from our friends the McShane's... full of a bunch of Little People characters and Zootalker's animals. Here are a few pictures of B'Elanna with her Little People. I think her expressions are adorable... but also like how she lines them up face to face in a row.
